In 1980 he was appointed a consultant
ophthalmologist in Stirling Royal Infirmary.
In 1983 he went to Riyadh to take up a
teaching post and on his return in 1992 he was again appointed a
consultant ophthalmologist and an examiner for FRCS at the Royal
College of Physicians and surgeons of Glasgow. For his outstanding
career in Ophthalmology he was elected a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons in Chicago in 1990. He is on the Specialist
register of the General Medical Council and is a certified
Refractive Laser Surgeon by The Royal College of Ophthalmologists
in London.
Dr Anwar joined Optimax in 1998 and has
trained a number of Surgeons at Optimax.
He has performed in excess of ten thousand
laser eye surgeries at Optimax.
