Intralase Femtosecond Laser
The state of the art "all-laser" Intralase
Femtosecond Laser is the gold standard for laser eye surgery,
providing Optimax patients with the best possible vision
outcome.
Optimax leads with
Intralase laser technology; with 18 lasers we
were the first company to offer this technology nationwide.
Intralase are the leaders in this
exciting new Femtosecond technology and are ahead of other
manufacturers of similar equipment. They currently provide over 99%
of Femtosecond lasers the world (approx 590 of 600).
They offer the fastest speed available (60 to 150
kilohertz). Intralase have branded Femtosecond LASIK
treatment
'IntraLASIK'.
Optimax are currently upgrading
from 4th generation IFS 60 Intralase to 5th
generation IFS 150 Intralase throughout all our clinics.
Excimer Lasers
Excimer lasers have been in
development since 1983 and all makes have passed stringent FDA
approval and give very good
results.
All laser manufacturers promote
special aspects of their lasers as being superior to others, but
research has yet to justify that any of these aspects give
significant advantage to patients.
The laser used is the same for
both
LASIK and
LASEK treatments and final results are similar
for both procedures at all levels of treatment.

of lasers - the world's most widely used laser

Optimax primarily uses the NIDEK EC5000
(Japanese) slit scanning beam laser.
This laser is upgradeable giving
us the advantage of being able to keep our equipment completely up
to date.
All our Nidek lasers have a
200Hz eye tracker (fastest available in the
marketplace) and are fully Wavefront enabled.
