Dr Ayoubi obtained his initial medical degree in Aleppo, Syria,
in 1984. He did one year’s training in Paediatrics and then took an
Ophthalmology training post at Aleppo University.
Dr Ayoubi came to the UK in 1986 and took trainee Ophthalmology
posts in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, East
Glamorgan General Hospital, and St Wools Hospital in South Wales,
Ipswich Hospital and Chesterfield Hospital.

As well as his work in the field
of refractive surgery, Dr Ayoubi has been involved in numerous
research projects, audits and publications. He also has a special
interest in paediatric and refractive ophthalmology.
His formal qualifications include
membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Fellow of the
Royal College of Surgeons, holding two Masters of Science Degrees,
one in Ophthalmology from Bristol University, and one in Laser
Refractive Surgeries from Ulster University. Dr Ayoubi was also one
of the first doctors to pass the Certificate of Laser Refractive
Surgeries from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
In addition to his work with
Optimax, Dr Ayoubi works at King Edward VII Hospital in
Windsor.
Since joining Optimax, Dr Ayoubi has performed more than 12,000
Laser Refractive Surgeries.
Dr Ayoubi joined Optimax in
2001.
