LASEK Eye Surgery - Step 1. Creating the flap

After the eyes have been numbed using anesthetic eye drops, the surgeron will create a thin hinged sheet in the outermost layer of the cornea called the epithelium. This thin sheet is then pushed to one side, givin the surgeon access to the underlying corneal tissue.
