Laser Eye Surgery Costs: Questions and Answers

  • Why do treatment costs vary between companies?

People often wonder why Optimax is able to offer such good value for money. Optimax was founded by a private individual in 1991, with the aim of providing corrective laser eye treatment at a cost that most people can afford, whilst maintaining the highest standards of medical care. This strategy created a greater demand for the procedure, which had previously been very exclusive. Optimax still maintains that it is unnecessary to charge thousands of pounds for a simple 20 minute surgical procedure.

Optimax specialises in laser correction surgery and lens surgery. As one of the largest providers in the UK, our facilities and lasers are fully utilised and savings through efficiency are passed on to our patients. About half of our patients come through recommendation from existing Optimax patients which means we are able to limit expensive advertising costs.

Our corrective eye surgery is the same as other providers offering laser eye treatments and, in many cases, our lasers are the same as those used in far more expensive companies.

  • Can I spread the cost?

Optimax offers Easy Payment Plans for those who wish to spread the cost of their treatment, making laser eye treatment with Optimax even more affordable. Details are available upon request.

  • Is aftercare included in the total cost?

Aftercare at Optimax is free of charge within the first 12 months following treatment. The majority of laser eye treatment patients are discharged after three to six months. If a check up is required after 12 months has elapsed, a charge of £25 will be made.

ICL patients will be required to attend for an endothelial cell count test every two years following treatment and there is a £25 charge, per test.
