Dr Jan Grzeszkowiak graduated from the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan (Poland) in 1991. He was trained in ophthalmology in Poznan and at the University of Freiburg (Germany).
He completed Ophthalmology Training Programme in Poznan in 1999 and was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology and International Federation of Ophthalmological Societies.
He continued his surgical career in cataract and refractive surgery at the University of Helsinki (Finland). He has conducted ongoing research on secretory activity of human tumor cells at the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan (Poland) and received his PhD in 1996.
Dr Grzeszkowiak is currently the Head of the Lexummedica Eye Clinic in Poznan, the most known private eye clinic in Poland. He is an experienced anterior segment surgeon specialising in laser refractive surgery (Femtolasik, Lasik, Lasek, PRK and PTK), cataract surgery and phakic intraocular lenses implantations (ICL and AcrySoft Cachet) and surgical treatment of keratoconus (Kerarings and cross-linking). He has wide experience of using different excimer laser systems, femtosecond laser and different types of microkeratomes. He is currently listed on the Specialist Register of GMC.
Dr. Grzeszkowiak's teaching responsibilities encompass training ophthalmologists in cataract and refractive surgery, along with leading training seminars and wet labs. As part of the faculty of the University of Poznan he mentors optometry students and supervises masters' theses.
Many of his articles have appeared in scientific publications, and Dr Grzeszkowiak is a respected conference speaker. For more than ten years Dr Grzeszkowiak has organized and led voluntary medical missions to Kenya, where he performs sight saving and sight restoring surgeries to the community. He has successfully introduced modern surgical techniques and trains local ophthalmologists.
