Simon Horgan is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St George's Hospital, Tooting, and Moorfields Eye Hospital,London. He qualified from London University in 1986 and received his ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
His original training included specialised surgical treatments to the anterior segment (the cornea, conjunctiva and anterior chamber) and regularly sees patients requiring specialised advice
for these problems.
Mr Horgan specialises in cataracts, use of multifocal implant lenses, astigmatic corrections, retinal conditions and general ophthalmology. He performs high volume cataract surgery, undertaking around 100 cases per month. In addition he was one of the first surgeons in the UK to use multifocal lens technology and has considerable experience with these lenses.
He has been using toric intraocular lenses for the last two years.
Mr Horgan is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and regularly attends international conferences (most recently ESCRS Milan September 2012 ) to keep
up to date.
