Dr Anand Masilamani began his career at the Stanley Medical College in Madras, India. Following his graduation in 1994, he furthered his medical training in general ophthalmology and received his Diploma in 1998.
Subsequently, he gained invaluable experience in eye trauma management, cataract and glaucoma surgeries.
In 1998, Dr Masilamani came to the UK to further his training. He worked as a Senior House Officer (SHO) in a number of hospitals, including the Victoria Hospital, Blackpool.
He received his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in November 2000, and is a member of the European and United Kingdom Society of Refractive Surgeons. He has also obtained certification in refractive surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
While undertaking a Fellowship in Medical Retina at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, he passed the necessary licensing exams to practice medicine in the United States.
Dr Masilamani joined Optimax in 2002.
