Dr Christopher Stephenson

Mr Christopher Stephenson is an NHS Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon. He has over 20 years experience in ophthalmology. His specialties include corneal transplantation, microincision cataract surgery as well as Laser and Intraocular Lens (IOL) refractive surgery.
He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1983.
He went on to specialise in ophthalmology in South Africa and the UK, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. Mr Stephenson then undertook a fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at St Thomas' Hospital in London, where he conducted research in LASIK and PRK laser surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
Subsequently he obtained certification in refractive surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Mr Stephenson has published scientific articles in the prestigious Ophthalmology journal and has presented papers at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Congress of the Royal College of Ophthalmology.
He performs a full range of cataract and refractive lens surgery, laser refractive procedures as well as corneal surgery.
