How much does laser eye surgery cost in 2025?
One of the main questions we receive from patients relates to the cost of their vision correction treatment. This is completely understandable, as it helps people plan for a procedure that suits both their needs and their budget. At Optimax, we aim to make our treatments as accessible as possible with transparent pricing and flexible payment options.
All prices mentioned in this article are correct as of November 2025. For full details and the most up-to-date figures, please visit our treatment cost page.
Transparent, fixed pricing
We are proud to offer a fixed pricing structure at Optimax. Unlike some providers, we don’t charge different prices based on your prescription. Treating a higher prescription doesn’t cost us more as a business, so there’s no reason for our patients to pay more either. We also avoid “from” prices, as we prefer our costs to be as clear and simple as possible from the outset.
You can get an early indication of which treatment might be most suitable for you by entering your prescription details on our suitability page.
How much does laser eye surgery cost?
Laser eye surgery continues to be our most popular procedure thanks to the quick treatment time and fast recovery period. We offer both LASIK and LASEK, and both procedures are priced the same, regardless of your prescription. The current cost is £1,295 per eye.
We also offer payment plans, including interest-free options, which many patients find useful for spreading the cost of treatment. Full finance information, including representative examples, can be found on our treatment cost page.
How much does implantable contact lens (ICL) surgery cost?
ICL surgery is a great alternative for people who are unsuitable for laser eye surgery, such as those with higher prescriptions or thinner corneas. ICLs sit just in front of your natural lens and are designed to offer long-term clarity of vision.
The cost of ICL surgery is £3,395 per eye. As with our laser treatments, finance plans are available for patients who wish to spread the cost. More detailed information is available on our prices page.
How much does cataract surgery cost?
Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed eye procedures in the UK, and at Optimax we offer fixed pricing for this treatment. The cost for cataract surgery with a standard monofocal lens is currently £2,995 per eye.
Some patients opt for alternative lens types, and prices for these options, along with finance examples, are outlined clearly on our treatment cost page.
How much does lens replacement surgery cost?
Lens replacement surgery, also known as refractive lens exchange (RLE), is often recommended for patients aged 45 and over. It can reduce or remove the need for reading glasses and also prevents cataracts from developing later in life.
We offer three lens options, each with a fixed cost:
- Monofocal lens: £2,995 per eye
- Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) lens: £3,295 per eye
- Multifocal lens: £3,450 per eye
Your optometrist will recommend the lens type best suited to your visual needs and lifestyle. Again, finance options and more detailed information can be found on our pricing page.
