Optimax Expands Operations, Announces Integration With Spanish Ophthalmological Institution Clinica Baviera
In a move that boosts its ambition to expand the scope of operations and consolidate on the quality of its service offerings, Optimax Eye Surgery, the UK’s pioneering eye surgery specialists, is excited to announce that it is being integrated with Clínica Baviera, a leading European ophthalmological institution headquartered in Spain.
The general prediction is that this will be a springboard for Optimax’s increased growth.
Clínica Baviera has 110 clinics in Spain, Germany, Italy and Austria. This integration with Optimax is the beginning of its entry into the UK market, where over 100,000 people opt for laser eye surgery every year.
“We have always liked Optimax and feel identified with on many corporate values; in particular, passion for refractive surgery, quality service for our patients and respect for the people we work with. We are currently present in Spain, Germany, Austria and Italy with 110 clinics and more than 1,500 people. However, despite our size and span, we strive to maintain the family spirit among us all. This is a really important similarity that was clearly evident within the Optimax/Ultralase family. I am sure that by working together we will share ideas and promote exciting advances”, said Eduardo Baviera, co-founder of Clínica Baviera, commenting on the integration.
Clínica Baviera, the only European ophthalmological society listed on the Stock Exchange, was created more than 30 years ago in Valencia, Spain. Its range of service offerings is mainly focused on ophthalmology. The company has opened an average of four clinics per year and has become a benchmark in the field of ophthalmology at European level, especially in the area of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, intraocular surgery for the removal of cataracts and presbyopia, as well as treatments for other eye pathologies such as glaucoma, vitreoretina and strabismus.
“I have known Mr Eduardo Baviera for over 25 years and we have remained good friends during that period. Clinica Baviera is similar in culture and ethics to us, and are keen to restore our fortunes, invest and take the company to the next level. I am excited to see a better future for the company”, stated Russell Ambrose, proprietor and pioneering director of Optimax, confirming the announcement.
